Commitment: How I went from cute pretty boy to hot stud in 5 seconds flat

Ok, it feels a little weird to have a title like this but I caught your interest right? Today I was at the mall looking for some new clothes for my wardrobe and I noticed some interesting things in the process. Now keep in mind, I wasn't trying to make any observations or anything as I walked around the mall but I still couldn't help but notice a few things that happened as I shopped.

I was walking around the mall and I was wearing two t shirts and an overlapping zip up sweater. I was alone and didn't have anyone to preoccupy my attention so I naturally noticed people as they walked by. I walked around the mall twice and then I took off one tee shirt and the sweater as I tried on a shirt I was thinking about buying. After I tried on the shirt I was considering buying, I left my t shirt and sweater off for the remainder of the mall episode. It was getting warm and I realized I didn't need them.

So here is what I noticed, when I had the sweater and extra t-shirt on, I got very few looks and was just another passerby. However, when I took them off, suddenly people started looking at me and even staring from across the mall. Now, I'm really not trying to be vain here, but the change in the way people saw me and even treated me was dramatically different. Before I took them off, I had the lady working at the register call me "sweetie" and I felt invisible to the world. People were practically walking into me as I walked by. However, after I took off the over layers, people cleared at least two feet for me. In the mall! I was getting old women looking my way and shamelessly staring at me from across the store. Younger women were embarrassed as they walked by and trying not to show it. Men even treated me different and I was even approached by a network marketer who knew me from a gym I used to work at and wanted me to join his company.

My point here is that suddenly, I got respect from people I didn't even know just because I am really fit. I personally don't think this is a bad thing as long as you don't let it go to your head. There is something admirable about a great body. It is the great equalizer in my opinion. No one cares about your differences when you are fit. They recognize the hard work and patience that goes into obtaining a fit body. This reminds me of a quote I recently heard that goes something like this, "It takes a strong spirit to build a strong body". I believe there is a truth to this. I think people realize this and admire it also as long as you aren't cocky about it. If you want to make a change in your body I can tell you it is well worth it. In changing your body, you will have much more influence on the world and you will become a more positive and confident person. Just don't get carried away with it. I don't and I still get women telling me that when they first met me they thought I am a womanizer. Many people also have a negative response to it thinking you are a dumb jock or a womanizer. This however comes with a certain level of respect though and you just need to do your best to show that your not.
